spotify skips songs randomly and stops songs on the desktop. please help

It's never been like this before, I had come around to this glitch last year and it's bugging me out. When I play a song or playlist, it either skips to the next song or stops playing music even though it's playing, so when it skips itself, I get an ad (I don't have premium btw).

• Did this happen after any specific OS or Spotify update?
• How often does it happen? Is it with all content?
• Screenshots or a video of the behaviour
