A Firewall may be blocking Spotify. Please update your firewall to allow Spotify...

Hi! I tried logging in to Spotify today but I'm getting this error: "A Firewall may be blocking Spotify. Please update your firewall to allow Spotify. Additionally, you could try changing the currently used proxy settings[Error Code:17]"

I'm not using a proxy and so far, I've tried reinstalling the app; allowing Spotify through Windows Firewall and using the Store App instead but nothing's working, the error still remains.

My country is also set up right on my profile (USA) so I've no clue what on earth is wrong here.

Does anyone have a solution? Thanks!

I've literally tried every solution given over there but none work for me

Hey, thanks for reaching out.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here. You can also try this more advanced guide to uninstall Spotify. Try to create another user account on your PC and install Spotify there. Let me know how it goes 🙂

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest!

I've tried everything that has been suggested and I am still unable to log in.

I originally joined and downloaded in the US.  I then switched my country settings to Vietnam (see below) - because that's where I was.  However, now I am in Myanmar and it won't let me switch off from Vietnam when I log on to the web page (the image below shows Vietnam as the only option in the pulldown menu).

I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, turned off the proxy, and I have also included a snapshot of my current proxy.  Since I am not computer literate, I'm not sure what my proxy settings on my mac mean.  Could the "*.local, 169.254/16" be the issue???
