My Question or Issue

When listening to Spotify directly on my laptop, I keep the app volume at 100% and control volume via the OS.

When listening via Spotify Connect on my stereo, the app volume switches to represent the current volume on the receiver.

Recently, I've had a number of near heart attacks when trying to adjust the receiver volume via the Spotify app (using the [Ctrl]-[Up] and [Ctrl]-[Down] keyboard shortcuts).

With music playing at a quiet level on the receiver, I have pressed [Ctrl]-[Down] to reduce it slightly, only to have the receiver volume suddenly set to "99" (max volume).

I believe the exact repro was:

- Start playback on laptop (full volume)

- Switch to receiver in Spotify Connect

- Reduce volume using [Ctrl]-[Down] shortcut

If you don't think this is a serious bug, buy a home theater receiver, set it up with 5 high-powered speakers in an apartment building, and try to repro this bug at 12am. 😃

My ears, pocketbook and neighbors thank for your attention.

Me too! Oh my gosh if it woke up my kids someone's going to hear about it. Once I can hear again. 😉

Instead of fixing this bug, they removed keyboard shortcuts for spotify connect completely. Bastards.

Yyyyuuuup. It works for me when I reinstall Spotify but then stops
working again. With the latest software update I've started
investigating other services.
