My Question or Issue

Autoplay is definitely not working the way it is supposed to - I have it turned off. The way it works on the iOS mobile app for me when I have it turned off: I'll play an album from beginning to end, and at the end, the music will stop. It does not continue playing more music from the same artist or any similar music. Good - that is what I want.

The desktop app is NOT doing that. I have autoplay turned off and what it does is continue to the next album from the same artist - this is really annoying. For instance, I will be playing Philip Glass' score for Koyaanisqatsi and right below that album is "Philip Glass: The Secret Agent". After it finishes playing Koyaanisqatsi it continues on to Philip Glass: The Secret Agent. Why is it doing this? I do not want it to do this, and considering it doesn't do that on the iOS app for me, that is odd. Is there a fix or something? I'm fully up-to-date and have tried resetting the program and my PC after switching to autoplay being off. And it is still off, it just isn't working the way it's supposed to.

Hey @jakeshaws

Are you listening to the albums from the artist page? If yes, that's likely the cause.

If you click on the album's title, the album page opens, and when you press play in there, Spotify will play only this album.

On artist page it will play every following album in  a row.

(great music taste btw!)

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Yes, that's what I was doing! I didn't realize that - on the iOS app you have to choose the album, so of course it stops. On the desktop you can just see an overview of the artist's albums or choose a specific one and then it'll work. Thanks much!

And thank you! I'm trying to expand my tastes 🙂
