Can't crossfade when linked to Bose SoundTouch 10 through desktop version of Spotify

Here's the problem I have:

I can crossfade songs when I'm listening to my computer. After connecting the Bose soundtouch 10 and adding it as a device to Spotify, I changed the my playback device to this in the choose device section at the bottom of the desktop version of the Spotify menu. It playbacks through this fine however it does not crossfade songs as it normally would listening through my PC. All the settings are the same, I just can't get it to work sadly. Help would be appreciated.
