My Question or Issue

My Spotify was going offline for a couple of days even though I was connected to WiFi. I tried turning the laptop off and on again and nothing happened so I uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify. Now I’m stuck at the log in screen. I entered the correct username and password and it will either get stuck and stay on that screen or an error message will pop up. (Service is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. (Error code: auth:1)) It’s been doing this for like two days and I can’t get into my account.

Hey @jkr2001, welcome!

Can you log into your Spotify account or the web player?

Also, can you log in on other devices?

Let me know 🙂

I can log in on web player and all other devices, just not my laptop

In this case, could you check if your Spotify client is not blocked in firewall or by your antivirus app?

You can also check your hosts file, instructions on how to do that are here. 🙂

Also, are you behind any proxy or VPN? These could cause this issue if some setting is not right. If you're not, then you should try restarting the router as well as flushing the DNS cache - here's how to do that:

1. Open Command Prompt
2. Type this

ipconfig /flushdns

3. Hit Enter.

Let me know how you get on 🙂
