Can't play a specific artist's top songs? (bug)

Can't play a specific artist's top songs? (bug)

I've never had this issue before, but I've been trying to play a specific artist's top songs on her page and the player just goes blank every time. The window on the right also shows the "find something to play." I've tried closing and reopening Spotify multiple times and it hasn't changed. Everything else on the app seems fine so I don't think it's a hardware issue. The specific artist is Fatima Al Qadiri.

Hello @Kiwimite!

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community. I'll try to help you out.

Can you let me know which device (or devices) this is happening on? Are you able to play these songs from another device (mobile/desktop)? I'd also recommend you try having a clean reinstall of the app. This can help solve most common issues.

Hope this helps and keep me posted!

Hi Jose,

It seems to only be happening on my laptop (Windows) since it worked on my phone (android). I appreciate the suggestion for the clean reinstall - I think that it's not really a big enough issue to go through the entire reinstallation process, but I'll keep it in mind for the future. If I end up going through with it I'll report back. Thanks 🙂

Hello @Kiwimite!

Thanks for your reply. Since it only happens on your desktop, it's possible that the issue is related to your device. It may be due to an old cached or corrupted file. Usually the clean reinstall can do the trick for these cases.

I do understand that it's a long list of steps to go through though, so you could try having a regular reinstall which is not so thorough but it may solve your issue.

Hope this helps!
