Hello,
I cannot play mp3 files from an album I just bought. Normally it should be well possible to play local files on spotify if they are on my computer. However, the tracks that aren't on spotify cloud are greyed out and can't be played.
I have imported the local files, and spotify recognises them, as this is a new album and the songs are not yet on spotify. The songs show up under 'Local files'. Then I click play. Spotify shows me the following banner:
'This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.'
I have the right codecs on my pc, because I can play the songs just fine with vlc, however I want to listen to all my songs in the same player, and not open a different player for a different album..
Anybody seen this before?
Best regards
Glenn
I have the same problem
Bonjour,
j' ai moi aussi le même probléme ! et c'est extrémement gonflant !
a quand des applis qui fonctionnent de la même façon sous linux que sous windows
une solution à notre probléme ?
Same issue. I'm on Linux though, so maybe that's causing it too.
Yeah spotify blows, I too have this issue. I tried making a playlist and none of the songs play. Whats the point of having this feature on spotify if it doesn't even allow to play your own music that is not on spotify. Such a buzzkill

Not being able to play local files on Linux is probably a different problem and related to Spotify unfortunately requiring old libraries. See this possible workaround:

Yes, but I can't even listen to the songs on my local pc. How did you do that?
Hello, i can see and read my own mp3 songs which are on my PC with spotify, but is it possible to see (and play) them as albums ? For example, google play music or windows media player is able to see my folder "music" with a view "albums" or a view "artists" ...
Thank you for your response !
I have the same exact problem on mac os high sierra.
