I already tried all those options. I have also already completly re-installed the OS from scratch (not because of this issue). But the issue is still happening very often. The next song from the playlist plays for 1 second then stops and I get the "Can't play the current song" error. If I select another song it plays or hit next it plays. If I get back to the one who failed it plays. This is very anoying. Is someone at spotify even looking into this?

I'm afraid I can offer no insight. The problem just magically went away for me, and I still have no idea how or why. Because I made no changes, I am therefore pretty certain that the problem lies at Spotify's servers, and not our client apps.
I haven't worked out how to raise trouble tickets with Spotify either! (and I need another one now, because casting to ChromecastAudio is full of similar glitches!)
Currently I'm listening from home and there is no issue.
However when I'm at work I get the error "Can't play the current song". When I'm at the office connected to the LAN I get an IP address that sometimes is from a different country (VPN) where maybe spotify is not available.
The app may get confused by that? It shouln't since I'm premium.
