Would love to hear more suggestions. I too performed the recommendations listed here yet I continue to get the "can't play the current song" error message at the end of most - sometimes all - songs.

Spotify support suggested I listen on the web-based player but that failed entirely for me. This seems like a system-wide problem. I'm giving Spotify a few more weeks before I switch to Apple Music.

Going back to a previous version is another possible solution.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.  My work blocks the link for some reason so I'll give it a shot at home.

I already tried all those options.
I have also already completly re-installed the OS from scratch (not because of this issue). But the issue is still happening very often.
The next song from the playlist plays for 1 second then stops and I get the "Can't play the current song" error.
If I select another song it plays or hit next it plays. If I get back to the one who failed it plays.
This is very anoying. Is someone at spotify even looking into this?

(Running the lastest version 1.0.32.96.g3c8a06e6 on Windows 10 (1511)).

Exactly the same problem here..

Any solution for this?

I'm afraid I can offer no insight. The problem just magically went away for me, and I still have no idea how or why. Because I made no changes, I am therefore pretty certain that the problem lies at Spotify's servers, and not our client apps.

I haven't worked out how to raise trouble tickets with Spotify either! (and I need another one now, because casting to ChromecastAudio is full of similar glitches!)

I have a guess of what it could be.

Currently I'm listening from home and there is no issue.

However when I'm at work I get the error "Can't play the current song". When I'm at the office connected to the LAN I get an IP address that sometimes is from a different country (VPN) where maybe spotify is not available.

The app may get confused by that? It shouln't since I'm premium.

@silvino

If you're Premium, your IP address should not be a problem. What you may be experiencing is some sort of connectivity problem, like ports being closed due to your corporate firewall.

Tried all the fixes here, didn't work. As it turns out, plugging my headphones into a different USB port fixed it for me.
