Cant create folder and immediately disappear

My Question or Issue

It's 2024 and the problem still hasn't resolved. Whenever I create a folder in my playlist, the folder immediately disappears. Uninstall and reinstall and it's the same.  I need to create folder to place artist and their albums in a folder. It was fine, centuries ago but the problem rises years ago and its not solve till now.

Is it possible that you are creating the folders as "subfolders" of existing ones? I recommend creating new folders via the (+) button, located at the top of Your Library - that way, the folder will be created at the current directory you're in:

 

 

You might also have set a filter in Your Library that might be hiding your folders, so try removing those to see if the folders would show up:

In case the issue persists, please share a short screen recording, which captures the described behavior in action, along with the exact version of Spotify so we can investigate further.

Thank you for the reply. I have attached an image for the version that I have installed and also the issue that I am facing with the disappearing folders after I create it (yes, I clicked the plus sign, saw the new folder and then it disappeared again. I can't create folders. It was fine for many years until 4 years ago, when this happened. I chat with Spotify staff on this issue and none of their suggestions work.

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

We tried to replicate the issue, but the folders are working properly on our end. So in this case, we'd recommend checking if the Web Player has the same behavior or not. If not, and if you haven't tried before, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article

If the issue persists, could you have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists? This will help us understand if it could be account-related or not.


Lastly, it would be great if you could record a short video where we can take a better look at the behavior you're describing. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
