"Hopsin - Crown Me" is just one example. The song ends at 4:39, but around 4:32 the progress bar jumps back to around 4:25 and the audio just stops. This usually results in my Spotify client crashing/freezing and I have to reopen it manually. (A daily issue for me since I have a lot of Hopsin songs throughout my Spotify playlists.)
"Hopsin - Forever Ill" is another. "Hopsin - I Just Can't" is another that consistently crashes my client.
Not sure what the root of the problem is, (maybe an issue with his albums?) but it seems to only happen when certain songs of his play. I don't think I've had this issue with any other artist or songs that I have noticed yet.
I'm using Windows 10, fully up-to-date as well as the latest Spotify client (v1.0.80.474.gef6b503e).
Thanks for your time.

@ItsPugle Just wanted to check back in with you, I think I figured out the issue.
It got me thinking, when you said it worked fine for you. I knew it must be something on my end, so I went back through your suggestions and the only thing that stood out to me was when you suggested to turn off my local files. When I did that originally, it didn't work, so I turned them back on, but today I thought it might not have worked because I just turned those features off and immediately attempted the songs again.
So I went back and turned off the local files again, but this time, I restarted Spotify (which I didn't do before). I tried the songs after that and they didn't crash my client. Then I checkd and found out that I have those same Hopsin songs saved on PC in iTunes and I think those were the files being played by Spotify. They must be corrupted or something because they also stop at the same spot in iTunes and I never noticed it because iTunes just skips to the next song at that point.
But I just wanted to let you know that everything is working for me now and I appreciate your help. The only step I didn't take originally was restarting Spotify after switching those options and that's why it didn't fix it.
Thanks again for helping me figure this out.
I guess if a dev happens to see this thread, my suggestion would be to make the song skip to the next track when it gets hung up, rather than just stopping and crashing, if possible, or have some kind of visual indicator that Spotify is playing a local file, rather than a streamed song so I know it's my files that are the issue.
No response at all? feelsbadman.jpg
Hey @Kylix_,
Would you be able to try doing a clean reinstall of Spotify? It'll really help find out what's happening here! Find out how to do one over here: https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/
Let me know how it goes!
P.S. I removed your post in the Line-In board ๐ Thanks for reposting it here.
Hey @ItsPugle thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion and unfortunately, it didn't work.
I uninstalled and redownloaded Spotify. Then I did a clean install and opened it up. I went straight to "Hopsin - Crown Me" and moved the play slider to about 4:25 and let it play. Same as always, when it got to about 4:32 (the song ends at 4:39), the slider jumped back to about 4:22, the song stopped and Spotify eventually closed.
There has to be something wrong with those song files specifically. I don't even have them saved to my PC, this happens when streaming it.
I think that album specifically (Pound Syndrome) is messed up somehow, because it crashes my client with more than one of those songs, but songs from other, different Hopsin albums don't cause this issue.
Is there any way for a Spotify dev to chime in or check this bug manually? It's been happening for a while now.
Thanks for checking that @Kylix_,
Would you be able to share the Spotify URIs for all songs that this happening with? I'll check this on my end, and see if I'm able to reproduce this issue. Let's also check if disabling all local files under Settings > Local Files helps?
If that still doesn't help, would you be able to try and record a video of this happening? The name of your device as well as the Spotify Version would help too!
Keep me posted ๐
Hey @ItsPugle! Thanks for trying to help.
Here's a quick video of the error in action: https://streamable.com/r0lx5
It seems to be happening with every song from that particular album.
Here's a few URIs for example (first, middle and last track on that album)
1. spotify:track:2v4u0WGRHHtzRWvB0lxQAk
2. spotify:track:6xCZ5hulrqJwPb4CPK4e7G
3. spotify:track:2UqmT5zzItHYoysQwjxgjy
Hope this helps and thanks for trying to solve this with me!
Also, I disabled the local files like you said and the issue still persists. (Sometimes it crashes Spotify, sometimes it doesn't, but that's how it always was.)
Awesome, thank you so much@Kylix_,
I've just tried that on my laptop just now, and it's working fine it seems. Would you be able to post the Spotify URI for that "Twitch Songs" playlist, perhaps? I'll just check if I'm able to reproduce that using that playlist ๐
Cheers!
Hello again @ItsPugle,
It's not even that specific playlist that has trouble. I can open Spotify and go directly to those songs from the searchbar or the artist page and the same issue happens. I've even deleted and recreated many playlists that include those songs and it always messes up at the same spot, during the same songs. Nothing seems to help.
But here is the playlist URI you asked for: spotify:user:kylix_tyfurious:playlist:7IHBvFfWWilaJJ05bKjamR
Hopefully it helps. Would love to be able to play these songs without it freezing, jumping back or crashing my client every time. Hopsin is one of my favorite artists. I don't want to be forced into removing those songs completely.
Thanks again for your help.
