My Spotify client randomly started losing/regaining connection over and over again, even though I have an internet connection. Basically, I'll start up Spotify, and sometimes I'm connected and sometimes I'm not. The following error is given when I am not connected:
"No internet connection detected. Spotify will automatically try to reconnect when it detects an internet connection (error code: 4)"
If I start with a working internet connection, I'll eventually lose it. After I lose connection, I'll regain connection, only to lose it again (the interval is usually small, but can sometimes be large). This continues to happen in a cycle.
If I start without internet connection, I'll eventually regain internet connection only to lose it seconds later.
It's worth nothing the client never seems to keep a connection for very long.
This has been going on for about two days now. I've been ignoring it, hoping it will fix itself, but it hasn't.
I've tried the following:
1. Re-installing Spotify.
2. Allowing Spotify through the Windows Firewall.
3. Opening Spotify as administrator.
4. Logging out and logging back in.
None of the above worked.
It is probably also worth noting that on my laptop (same network, same OS, same account), everything works fine.
In a nutshell, my client keeps alternating between having an internet connection and not having one. I don't know what to do.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
I also have the exact same problem. It started to happen this week and it continuously drops and forces me to close Spotify. I'm not sure if it is related to Spotify solely - or whether it is a Microsoft update that occurred on my Windows 7 PC.
Happening on my Mac too!
