I'm on desktop premium version on Windows 10 (Surface Book 2).
The minimize to tray system option won't work anymore. The spotify icon is always displayed in the botton right corner.
I uninstalled and reinstalled spotify and it won't change.
Please fix this defect

Hello @dikiz, thanks for posting!
Could you check if Spotify is enabled to appear in the taskbar?
Right click on the taskbar > Taskbar Settings > Select which icons to appear on the taskbar > Turn Off Spotify if it is enabled.
Also turn off "Always show all icons in the notification area", it is possible to be turned on after Windows update.
Thanks for the reply.
I confirm you Spotify is NOT enabled to appear in the taskbar. But it does
Hello again,
okay, that's getting weird, let's try to investigate more in the Windows registry settings, as it appears to be something related with settings. I just checked it on two machines and Spotify icon doesn't appear at the taskbar when minimized.
Click on the search (O) > Type Run > Open it > Type Regedit > Click Ok (Yes)
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
Click/Highlight Explorer and search for EnableAutoTray at the right > Double Click > Set the value. If it's 1 change it to 0, if it's 0 change it to 1
0 = On
1 = Off
Other settings you can change if you see it:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Search for NoAutoTrayNotify
(Delete key) = Disable
1 = Enable
You may need a restart to apply the settings.
I had just misread the label of the option button.
I was expecting that "minimize" would not display an icon in system tray. But this option is about showing an icon is system tray if "close" is clicked.
My bad, sorry about that
