My Question or Issue

I have been using the desktop app since I've started using Spotify and I've never had any issue before. But now the desktop app just won't play any song! I've tried to update, reinstall the app multiple times! And I have already tried to delete the "host" file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc), but that did not work either!

I don't know what else to do or try.

The app is working fine on my Android app and I can listen the songs when I use spotify on web browser, but on my PC the app does not work.

Please help me!

Hey @carolinamaciel

I would suggest checking if your audio device is set to be default. Spotify uses what's default.

1. Right-click on speaker icon on taskbar;

2. Open Playback Devices;

3. Highlight whichever device you're using and click on the Set Default button.

4. Hit Apply and OK.

If that didn't work yet, please let me know if Spotify pops up any error messages, or if the progress bar of the current song moves at all.
Also, what antivirus program are you using?  Some may protect so well they sometimes block more than needed 🙂

Let me know how it goes!
