[Desktop][Other] Spotify download for windows is broken.

Anytime i download spotify on my laptop the app wont work, on first try the app black screens before failing and closing itself. Then on subsequent attempts to open the app is just says 'spotify is not responding'.

I already had various issues with the app even back when it worked but now its unusable and the web player layout is different and doesn't allow you to rearrange songs by artist or date added which is a nuisance. The app also used to wrk very slowly sometimes and just stop playing altogether, you guys really need to update your software, at least for the windows download.

First thing you can check is if there's any difference if you download the Spotify app from the official website or from the Microsoft store. 

If this happens with both app versions, check your hosts file for entries that need to be removed. Follow the steps described here on how you can do that.
