Desktop client plays songs very choppy/buffering

My tablet just updated Windows 10 Home to version 1709 build 16299.98, now the songs will start out ok on the first song but then gets choppy after that and is useless.

I uninstalled the app, restarted and then installed the latest from Microsoft Store, free version, still does the same thing. I listen the my android app on my phone, it is fine. The web player on this tablet is fine. But I prefer the client because it  has the radio button, the web player does not.

I know this windows update did something but I don't know what. The client worked perfectly before.
