Hey @N0260,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
These types of issues are usually related to the cache stored on your device. We'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful getting rid of any corrupted files that might be causing issues.
If the issue persists, would you mind trying on a different device to see if it makes any difference?
Lastly, include in your next reply the URI of the podcast that has the issue to keep investigating.
We'll be on the lookout.
I've been having the same exact issue with the Distractible podcast, but only on my Android.
I did a clean reinstall and logged out of everywhere.
It works fine on my laptop, but refuses to play on my phone.

Hi there @ashleyhee,
Thank you for your reply and for the troubleshooting you've done so far.
To start with, can you let us know if this is the only podcast with this behavior or if it's podcasts in general?
Also, if you have an SD card we suggest that you uninstall the app > turn off your phone > take out your SD card > turn on the phone again (without the SD card) > reinstall the app since the card can be corrupted.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Take care!
Hey @ashleyhee,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.
To keep investigating this issue, would you mind checking if it happens using a different WiFi connection? In case you don't have a different connection to try, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.
If the issue persists, it would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your mobile device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if it makes any difference. This will help us understand if it could be account related or not.
We'll be on the lookout.
Just saying, the problem i had is that only one episode would be available for me to play and i found out it was because i had explicit content turned off, so before you do anything make sure its ON. (and no im not a little kid, i turn it off when i play music at work)
I can't listen to the distractible podcast, either. The timer is running, but I cannot hear anything. I can listen to music, but not the podcast. Not a single episode of it, which is weird.
Also, my issue is on my PC. I am using wireless Bluetooth headphones and, yes, I already tried using different headphones. Even plugged in my old radio to see if that changes anything. Nope - nothing.
What is going on???
Hey @LordBloodySoul,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community.
The folks at our tech team are currently looking into this, so make sure to vote for the Ongoing Issue here, if you haven't already. Make sure to provide us with the info we're asking for in the Status update in the comments.
Though we can't set an exact time frame for when this will be fixed, it'll also be useful to Subscribe via the three-dots menu in the top right corner next to the title. We'll be sure to keep you updated with any news on the matter there.
If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
It's 2025 and users are still dealing with this software problem. Distractible is the only Podcast this persists on--despite attempting all solutions offered here and on other forums like Reddit--it would seem that this issue is entirely within Spotify's code. No amount of user error or solution seems to change this continuously ignored, mutli-year-long problem.
If your customers are paying premium for a service they love, they would have fixed it on their own time. Too many people have had to come here to extend a hand for help only to be treated akin to a child with no experience in software problem solving. Please understand and respect that we are adults who have exhausted all other options and this forum serves as a last resort to turn to.
Consider providing solutions that go beyond what was already previously offered here.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
