Downloaded songs disappeared?

My Question or Issue

I'm in the process of moving house and without internet at the moment, so while I was at a friend's house I set my library to download so I can listen without eating up my data

The songs that downloaded came up on my laptop as expected at home, but when I toggled the download button "off" (from "waiting" to "download") all of the songs disappeared.

Why is this, and how do I reverse it? I can't say I'm impressed with this
