My Question or Issue

Why FLAC file cover image is not broadcasted in Spotify?

When I play a flac file in Spotify, the song cover doesn't appear on Spotify, but when I play it in Potplayer or Windows Groove music it works.

(Look the attached file down below)

The first image is on Spotify

The second image is in Windows Groove music

The third image is in windows file explorer

Hi @InstaZDLL,

Thank you for keeping in touch.

Unfortunately, FLAC files aren't supported so we can't guarantee full functionality with those files.

Since cover images are part of the file's metadata, it may be related to the source you obtained the FLAC files from. We suggest that you try taking a closer look at them and changing the image, if possible.

If you need a hand with anything else, just let us know.

Hey there @InstaZDLL

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Could you let us know if you were able to see those covers before or if they never showed up?

Additionally, we'd like to know if this happens with all of your local files or only with some of them.

Lastly, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. Make sure to download the app again from the Microsoft Store.

Keep us posted.

I have downloaded Spotify in Microsoft store, but it doesn't work,

I can see the cover of many MP3 files in Spotify, but a cover from a FLAC file doesn't appear.

In Windows Groove music :

FLAC : https://imgur.com/y260ts9

I put a new mp3 file in my song directory, but is the same problem as flac file look :

This MP3 file in Windows file manager : https://imgur.com/8D1uz0i

The same MP3 file in Spotify : https://imgur.com/LrvANYn

I have found a partial fix, I will explain it below in another comment shortly, its a little complicated tho.

So what is that partial fix ?? I'm interested because there's no existing fix nowhere on the internet

It REALLY sucks that Spotify can't display cover art, it is SO SAD to have no cover on half my collection !!!

DO SOMETHING, I'm premium user and still not happy of the service because of this BIG annoying problem
