Faulty Offline Message from "Your Daily Mix"

I get disconnected frequently from the internet due to my VPN service overloading my netgear modem and crashing it.

Point is that spotify frequently goes offline, and stays that way, specifically for the "Your Daily Mix" section. Doesn't matter that the modem restarts itself, and my internet connection starts running (checked it! spotify.com came up perfectly fine).

I can't get spotify to realize I'm connected until restarting the application or relogging in, which is annoying, especially since my VPN service overloads my poor modem frequently.

EDIT: manually ticking and unticking offline mode has no effect
