Favorites, library and green hearts

Favorites, library and green hearts

Why do I suddenly have a green heart on most songs in my playlist? This happened suddenly after last Spotify update. The normal thing is to get a green filled heart next to a song in any of my playlists IF the song is from an ALBUM that I have saved to my library, but now almost every song has that green heart although most of them are NOT from an album that I have saved to my album library! The songs I have are 90% just individual tracks that I have added to playlist from browsing Spotify (context menu - Add to playlist). It gets even weirder when library Album songs don't have a favorite heart in my playlist, so it's all seems very random and chaotic! And to make it even worse this problem is also appearing in the Android version but there the hearts are stuck to other songs than in my desktop version.   What happened Spotify? What strange feature have you introduced now that messes up our playlists like this?!

Hey @Greggy300,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

If we understand correctly, your Liked songs list has increased substantially and is now being populated by songs that were otherwise saved in playlists.

Since we haven't received similar reports about this behavior, would it be possible to cross check the songs and try to find some sort of pattern in the way they were added there? This will greatly help us to investigate further.

Keep us posted.

Hi,

No, that's not correctly understood. Let me try to explain it again:

First of all, when I add an individual track from an album, another playlist or wherever, I don't like or favor them. I don't click the outlined heart icon (Save to your library) but I enter the context menu for that track and choose Add to playlist. After last app update I suddenly got favorite hearts on most of my individual songs in my playlists. Prior to this only the songs that also appears in favored ALBUMS (Albums that I did click the large topmost favorite heart icon on) had filled green hearts on it, now there's just what seems to be randomly placed filled hearts on most of my songs in my individual playlists (lists I have created myself to add individual songs to), there's no concept or pattern to this like it used to be. This heart issue appeared after last update and it looks different on desktop W10 and on Android. On mobile the same random heart issue is going on but on other tracks than on the desktop app. So there's a perfect chaos to this making me belive there some sort of favorite bug going on.

Hey @Greggy300,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you post some descriptive screenshots on what is going on on your end? This way we'll know what exactly you're talking about and be able to help you further.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

The character of this error or bug changes all the time, now the filled hearts have disappeared on the individual songs in my playlists, but at the same time the song that are supposed to have a heart icon cause they are from saved and favored albums have no favorite icon in my playlists. There's a section named Liked songs that all have a filled heart icon that seems to be from favored and saved albums, but not all of them are. So I don't know what purpose it would have to take screenshots of a playlists cause it doesn't demonstrate anything. My best advice to you is to check for bugs before releasing anything and make a more stable application. For what I know things can look different already ten minutes after posting this reply. Seems to me that there's no logic pattern to how the heart icon appears, and by reading many other posts on same topic it seems like a common issue 🤔
