Help! - Some songs won't play.

Hi, I'm getting really frustrated here.

For over a week now some songs won't start playing when I click them or when it gets to their turn to be played.

Examples:

Heinrich Dressel - The black radiant sky

Lost years - Breeze

Everything's looks as it should, besides that the marker that moves along as the song plays, the minute counter and the track length doesn't appear. And of course there's no sound!  

They're not local files - just playlists I've built here on my Spotify unlimited account.

And it's not always the same songs that have this problem. Some has started working again, while new songs gets the problem instead!

Tried reinstalling Spotify, setting back my computer, checking for viruses - nothing works and it's driving me crazy!

About logs, there is no error or other type of message in the console when tracks fail to play.

I have the same problem that everyone else has with Spotify--most of my tracks won't play.

The only tracks that will play are the ones that have no image in the column between "Album" and "Added."

@steve-harris - The ones without images are the ones which stream directly from Spotify. With that in mind, I am guessing you are having issues with tracks which show a musical note in that column? If so they are local files resident on your computer not tracks being streamed from Spotify. 

There are a few things to try in this post which might fix that for you. If not, you can always remove the local files from Spotify in Edit > Preferences > Local Files.

I noticed the same issue that certain tracks I added from Spotify would not play. Then I noticed a pattern - the ones I couldn't play I also had a copy in Local Files (from iTunes).

I tried to play the copy in Local Files and it wouldn't play either. I believe there are other posts dealing with this, but what I did do to the local copy was right-clicked and selected "Unlink Track". Went back to my Playlist and presto, the track added from Spotify now works!

This is only for the Program Version !

Go to EDIT>PREFRENCES>

Scroll Down to LOCAL FILES   And UN-check All the Boxes !   

Don't Allow a link between your iTunes or whatever OTHER SOURCE of music you use to your Spotify !

I've Downloaded some albums and threw them on my iTunes. And Spotify would add them to it's LOCAL FILES Area.

This had been happening to me as well

I found that if i deleted what was stored as a local file, it would begin to work again.

Can someone help me?? Some of my favorite songs on spotify wont play. 4 whole albums of Avenged Sevenfold, Nightmare, Sounding the seventh trumpet, Waking the fallen and Avenged sevenfold (their album)!! It' really frustrating!

Do you get any error messages? Do those tracks appear in the local files tab inside your Spotify?

I'm having the same problem, for a couple of weeks I've had an the album Cavalier Youth that will not play any songs and it's driving me crazy! I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still won't work. Fix it!

If you dont have premium, uncheck high quality streaming, that made my Spotify start playing again.  I had Premium and it ran out, unchecking the box stopped that issue.  Some say going to preferences and scrolling down to "Local Files" and unchecking all the boxes fixed their problems with playback.

I turned off High Quality streaming and the music started playing again.  but the funny thing was that with high quality streaming, even without premium, some songs still played.  That is why I went to this post.  Try these 2 things:

1. Uncheck high quality streaming, restart Spotify.

or 

2. Uncheck the boxes under "Local Files" in the preferences, restart Spotify.

I did both the things and its playing again.  I probably only needed one of the things, but music is playing on my end.  Who cares now? :3

If this doesn't work, keep pestering the devs and find the bugs in Spotify.
