I was just listening to my regular playlist and then I tried to discontect Facebook. Suddenly, Spotify changed into Offline-mode. Do I need to change back or something? Why does it say "Offline" when I have full internet connection???? I've tried to shut it down and open again but it doesn't work. HELP PLEASE, I'M DYING HERE.

I've given up with Spotify and this issue.  3 different android phones, different networks both wireless and mobile and still says offline.  Joined Google play music and it's been fine for over a year now.  Spotify just keep telling you to do the save steps which never work.  I don't know how they are getting away with this tbh...  Money to Spotify is money down the drain for offline listening.  Never coming back.

LOL, that's not helpful.. anyway, I finally cancelled my premium
subscription to Spotify. After 10 years with Spotify, I'm gonna try some of
the other services for a while. I haven't been crazy about the direction
Spotify has gone over the years.. it's not special anymore.

Good to see that for 7 years people have had this issue and apparently there isnt a solution beyond "are you really online?" even if pretty much every other app works fine with WiFi and data connections .

First i had to stop using the Spotify app on my Mac because it now says "Spotify can't play this song, if you have the file on your computer you can download it ". Spotify message board has a million fixes for this and none of them work. Absolutely ridiculous. I pay for a premium service that worked far better 3 years ago than it does now. It's less intuitive and more complicated than ever. It shows very clearly that Spotify had things dialed in 3 years ago but needs to pay people to do SOMETHING, so they keep making " improvements ". STOP. Now, I have to use the browser version. It says I'm offline, ( in red ). Meanwhile, I have full internet connectivity. All the the suggestions for fixing say go to the main Spotify drop down and click offline mode. ( THAT'S ONLY ON THE APP!!! ) Either fix this or I plan to make it my weekend mission to go on Twitter and get as many people as possible to acknowledge the total lack of Spotify functionality. Us hard working people are getting sick of paying for technology that functioned better years ago. FIX THIS!!!!

despite having the active cellular network and no data restrictions, the app blocks every 2/3 songs as if it had no internet, yet the other apps work at the same time with the internet. This serious problem has been going on for months, I wrote to spotify customer service several times but nothing. It is solved only by installing a version a year ago or using a vpn (the spotify customer service gives the usual answers saying it's my provider's fault). In Italy everyone is complaining in the spotify comments in the playstore, we are not the only ones yet they do nothing.

Spotify is the only app that I can't access online on my mobile device.  I have cell service AND full WIFI connection, but spotify still says it has no internet connectivity.  This is causing me to look at other apps ASAP.  Any help would be appreciated.

This offline bug is really getting to me.
I have a laptop which I use sometimes connected to the docking station with a fixed cable and sometimes disconnected from docking station (using wifi). Everytime I switch Spotify looses connection and goes into offline mode. Starting in either wifi or at docking station works fine, so it's the switch that kills Spotify.

Everything else works fine in both modes, only Spotify has this bug.

Spotify really need to have a look at this and in worst case allow the users to force a connection check to see if there's a connection.

My spotify says it's offline on both data and wifi even with a 100mbps wifi and/or full 4g+ if i restart spotify on android 9, Oneplus 6T on latest software update

lasta beta version don't fix anything... same problem in the rest of Europe. we are not the only ones complaining. Incredible as spotify in recent months has not yet managed to solve the problem. ..

Go to your hosts folder in Windows/System32 and make sure you don’t have any Spotify hosts blocked. This is the culprit here. Other fix, is logging in by Facebook. If that does not work, then 100% hosts file with a blocked Spotify host

I have the exact same issue! It was working fine and now i cant get it to work at all. Its stuck in offline mode.

So i removed spotify and now I cant even login. Its so annoying that it makes you want to smash and break something.

Technology is so frustrating!

Okay so I think I have figured this out. Spotify gets confused between Ethernet and WIFI. Looks like if Wifi is on, even though not connected, Spotify by default will want to use it. Thats why people like us with docks are having this issue.

What you need to do is if you are using ethernet, turn off your wifi.
Undock your machine
Close and remove spotify
Dock your machine (ensuring only ethernet is on)
Install spotify
Login and it should be good.

Let me know if this works.

My guess is that Spotify doesn't have adequate ECN (edge servers).

maybe click off app and then restart it
