I'm colorblind and it's been harder and harder for me to see if the shuffle icon is active or not

Especially with the new subdued color scheme it's very hard for me to see at a glance if the playlist is in shuffle mode or not, the icon has fine lines with very little color and I have to get my face very close and squint at the darn icon to make sure of the status of that icon.

Please just make the icon change shape or any other, non color based difference between shuffle and not shuffling.

Cannot agree more, this is very frustating.

I'm using the zoom option for my mac to see the icon color.

Same here, sometimes the only way is to click the feature on and off to see how the list changes, but if it is the first song in an album there is no way to know.

They could add a "colorblind" option to have an alternative way to mark options, for instance invert colors so that when an option is selcted is dark icon on white background, and when not is the opposite.

I've been struggling with this on all platforms as well. Having a conversation about it with a friend who is *not* colorblind, she had this to say:

i am not color blind and i can never tell whether shuffle, etc. are on or off. i can’t imagine being color blind and trying to figure it out.

 The icons are so thin, and the color difference is so subtle, this is a UX problem for all users.

It looks like Spotify now puts a little dot beneath an activated shuffle or repeat button in addition to the active green color.

Big thumb up to Spotify, this is awesome!! Now they only need to do the same on the Mac OSX version of the app 🙂
