My Question or Issue

 

So, over 2000 songs have disappeared from my main playlist.  My password is secure, I didnt delete them, I only have 1 account and i'm not account sharing.  Any ideas how i can recover them?

Hey @russearwaker, and welcome to the community.

Hope you're doing great! 

 

You can easily recover your playlists by following these steps: 

  1. Log in to your account page.
  2. Click Recover playlists in the menu on the left. 
  3. Click RESTORE by the playlist you want to recover.
  4. Open Spotify and find the restored playlist at the bottom of your playlist collection.

My account has not been taken over, I’ve just lost songs on a playlist. I didn’t delete them, I logged on and they were gone.

Hi there, I understand your issue, songs NOT playlists? Good advice but it wouldn't help you sadly! A tricky one for sure, I presume you're using the Desktop app? Not the browser? What I would try is if you have Spotify installed on another device (phone/ tablet etc ) or even the web browser? Log in to those devices and see if the songs are missing on those too? If you don't maybe log into someone else's who u know has Spotify on their device just to check! If your missing songs do appear on the devices then perhaps it's your Desktop that's gone a bit wonky? Reinstalling your Desktop should restore your playlists to the correct state, maybe another solution will emerge? Good luck! 

Maybe a reinstall might not be a bad idea anyway, 

 

 

Just an afterthought, have you tried simply logging out then back in again?

Thanks for the reports. Those songs shouldn't just disappear like that, and that it's very possible that they are still out somewhere, perhaps a different account.

 

In that case, look for any other accounts you might have to see if the songs are hiding there. You can check out this guide as well to find your accounts.
