Media Keys on keyboard and mouse don't work when Show desktop overlay is on

My Question or Issue

When Desktop overlay when using media keys is enabled, the media keys are not able to play/pause skip a song when the spotify app is not selected/ primary window. The media keys work when that option is disabled.

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting. 

Most bugs with the app can be fixed by running a clean reinstall of the app. This one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble. 

If this doesn't work, please check the solutions proposed in this thread, for many users this issue is related to the PC extensions and the steps there may help.
