My Question or Issue

The album 'Angel of Babylon' by Avantasia doesn't seem to be divided up correctly, with multiple tracks featuring snippets of the next track in the album seconds before they end, creating a very jarring transition. This is most noticeable on the tracks 'Stargazers', 'Blowing out the flame', and 'Alone I remember'.

Same here! I've been wondering if it was only happening to me. I made researches and you're the only one I've stumbled onto with the same problem. I hope Spotify can do something about it 😕

Hey there @Wintergel,

Thank you for your post in this thread.

We tried this on our end - we didn't get the same behavior.

Can you send us the URI of the album so we can double check?

Also - can you perform a clean reinstall of the app to make sure there's no old cache files causing this?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂

Cheers!

Hi

I'm having the same problem, to respond to your question, the album URI is:

spotify:album:4v3yevIFfP3czw53LyCDa1

My specific example is that the last second of "Blowing out the Flame" plays the start of "Symphony of Life" (the next song). Some, but not all songs on the album do that. After a clean install, it's still always the same specific songs on only this album.

Happy days, Delano

Hey @Delanicious,

Thank you for your post in this thread and for providing the URI.

We've checked this, and what you're explaining does not occur from our end.

Does this occur on one specific device or multiple devices?

Also - can you log in with another account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persist?

It would also be great if you can let us know which version of the app you have.

Keep us posted 🙂

Cheers!

Ah, thanks for checking - very odd.

I've had this problem on all my devices (laptop, phone, pc and through a Sonos connection) for the last couple months, which is to say as long I know the song. I've only now thought of looking into it. My Spotify versions are:

laptop: 1.1.47.684.g136419d9
phone: 8.5.86.854

I can't access my PC right now and I'll check in with a friend's account a bit later, when they have time. Do let me know if there's anything else I should check.

Hey again @Delanicious,

Thank you for your reply and confirmation.

Lets check how it sounds from another account to make sure it's not an account related issue.

Cheers 🙂

Oh whoopsie. I have forgotten to get back for a week. I have had a friend and a family member try the album and songs in question on their account, both on their and on my device. The songs still behave the same way, briefly ending with the start of the next song. It doesn't matter if it's playing online or offline.

What's next?

Thanks for helping,

Delano

Hi there @Delanicious,

Thanks for the info and all your help.

What I'd suggest is to report this as broken content.

  1. Go to our contact form.
  2. Choose Report a broken track/album.
  3. Click I STILL NEED HELP.

That way this will reach the right team at Spotify directly!

Hope this helps 🙂
