New Releases are gone!????

Mysterio
Music Fan

Hi,

Today I have updated Spotify to the latest version. And I've noticed with shock that the "new releases" are simply gone!

There is now "Discover", but the new releases are no longer found there.

How can I get back again the new releases?

Hi there @Mysterio!

You can still search new releases by putting "tag:new" in the search bar.
Spotify on!

Well first of all thx for your answers!

Unfortunately "tag:new" does not really work, since it does not show

- single releases

- a list view instead of album covers

Furthermore, the list is endless and includes many duplicates!

First, I am going to help me with the following pages:

http://spotimy.co.uk/newadditions.php

http://pansentient.com/new-on-spotify/

http://spotifyreleases.com/?region=de&date=2013-07-05

http://spotifize.com/

If Spotify continues to worsen with each update, I'll switch to the new alternative Ampya

.

What's New has been removed from Spotify, and it isn't coming back.

You can get to what's new by typing spotify:app:home into the search bar, however there is no guarantee as to how long that'll last.

The best way to find new releases it to search tag:new - although this takes a while to update.

I actually just tried tag:new and found a single by bloc party. Guessing it probably doesnt show all new singles but it does at least show some 😃

I would like to see new releases again in some form.  Just received the Discover "update".

While Discover may be nice for people that don't really have a lot of music knowledge, for music lovers, it seems just to recommend either bands I already know, like, and have no need to "check out" or just less spectacular bands that list cool bands as their influences.

I think a Discover / Whats New option to show either would be cool, or just keep both, I'm ok with having both, as long as I can steal see new releases...

For the moment, you can use this to launch spotify, opened to what's new. Drag the link to your desktop to make life easier.

You can get New Releases back by typing this in the search area: spotify:app:home

I think i might take a look at that App, as Spotify is getting on my tits!

So, I'm trying to understand the logic of this. "New Releases" is still a prominent feature on the tablet and app. versions of Spotify, but is nowhere to be found on the Desktop anymore?

Huh????

There is a new releases section in the new "Browse" section but it hasn't made its way onto desktop yet.

For now, check out the new releases section in the Tunigo app.

Swarm.fm also has a new releases section, based on your library.

I spent like half a day yesterday in order to find a solution for new releases being gone, but today Spotify released an update bringing it back. Yupi!

Browse is OK, but it doesn't hold a candle to http://spotimy.co.uk/

It just doesn't.  And today being Wednesday, all of this weeks new releases should be listed by now, not just the Flavor-Of-The-Week releases shown in Browse.

The SwarmFM app is pretty good, it shows New Releases based on what is already in your library.  Also has tag links.  The downside is that its very resource intensive, even when compared with Discover or Collections.

YMMV.
