New Spotify version uses too much RAM

My Question or Issue

The latest Spotify version (1.1.34.694) uses too much RAM and gives the computer an excesive amount of work.

I have already disabled hardware acceleration and lowered Spotify's priority at Windows' tasks, but it's still the same. This didn't happen with Spotify's previous versions.

I installed an older version, and this worked nicely. However, Spotify will update everytime you close and re-open it, and uninstalling and installing another version everytime I turn on the computer is not practicable.

A good solution would be disabling automatic updates, but I didn't find a way to do it.
