I've had this issue for a while now.
Whenever I load up spotify, no music shows up in my playlist on the desktop app.
Even when I try to play music, it comes up highlighted green like it's playing, but it just doesn't play. On the web player, I can see my music, but can't play it. It works completely fine on my other devices though
On my friends account he can see all the music in my playlist, but I can't on my account.
I've literally tried everything but I can't find anything to fix my problem.

Current version stopped working for me too. Web player isn't either. Had to install an old one and that's been working. Using 1.0.87.491. https://www.filehorse.com/download-spotify/old-versions/page-2/
Me too, really annoying
I also have the problem since a couple of weeks. No songs will start to play, they dont even appear in the bottom bar, it will only show a black image with a black vinyl record, and no song information. Besides that all of my playlists appear empty. I reinstalled Spotify probably 10 times now, cleared cache and tried everything else, but it simply wont work.
Okay, i just found another "solution", i tried that and it worked. you should really try that, you can use the solution of this post: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Some-songs-don-t-play/td-p/4692656
Just delete every line in that file that says spotify in it.
Tried it before and just then again, still doesn't work for me unfortunately
