Other albums added to queue after album finishes

Go to an artist, click on an album card, click the white play button. After the album is finished, different albums from the same artist start playing. This is with the repeat option toggled (set to repeat all, not repeat one).

Note: Clicking the album name after the album card, then clicking the green play button effects the correct functionality. This should be what happens when clicking the white play button after initially choosing the album.

Hey there @horseflaps,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

We reproduced the journey you're describing and we can confirm that this behavior is actually expected.  Why? Because the album cards that you are clicking on are actually shortcuts to the artist's Discography list screen. As this is a list, wehre all the other releases of that artist reside, that is why the repeat functionality extends to encompass all entries in there. Hope this makes sense.

You've also correctly noted that the functionality works as expected when you've additionally clicked on the album's title in that initial Discography list. This way you enter the track list of that specific album only and then the 'Repeat all' functionality applies only for the tracks of that one album.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

OK, I guess the only question I have left is "why?"

Clicking an album should get you an album, clicking "discography" should get you discography. Having it this way round is weirdly misleading.

Hey again @horseflaps,

Thanks for your response here.

I see where you are coming from and how this could be a bit confusing, so I'll try to explain in more detail, why is this intended to work like this.

The several cards you see listed on an artist's home screen are placed underneath the section 'Discography', and you can filter those additionally using the filter buttons, but usually if the artists are prolific you are not able to get the full list there on that home screen. This initial view is just for previewing purposes and when the cards are clicked they are meant to lead you to that particular album/release, but in the context of the full discography list of that artist 🙂 Think of it as if you've clicked the 'See all' button but with an already preset focus on a concrete album (the card you've clicked on). This intermediary view is helpful in cases where you'd like to quickly browse and play some of the artist's tracks in various albums, without the need to actually go back and forth and to open up each and every album individually.

Hope the above makes sense and helps to clarify things. If you need anything else, the Community is here for you.
