Playlist Radio stopping after first 55 songs

Playlist Radio stopping after first 55 songs

My Question or Issue

Ok, I updated Spotify a week or so ago, and after that, the playlist radio is only 55 songs long, and it stops, and it never changes any of the songs. Only way I found to solve this, is play through the radio list, make a new playlist, move the songs from old playlist to new playlist, and go to playlist radio, to get access to new songs.

Can we PLEASE have back the "endless" playlist radio?

Hey @Shagrax,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, is this happening while you're listening to music directly on your devices or when you're using the Connect feature/Bluetooth?

Also, we'd like to know if this also happens when you're listening to a playlist/album and it finishes. Does the Autoplay stop after a specific number of songs as well?

On another note, could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on your PC?

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi, sorry for slow response, but it somehow managed to solve itself, or at least it's what it looks like.
To explain what happened before the issue somehow solved itself:
I started playlist on song 1, and when I played the last song on playlist and the song ended, it just stopped, and When I then pressed the start playlist radio, the big button on the windows client, it started on song 1 again, and this time the playlist was exactly the same as last time.

The issue has been resolved (I think), but this is not the first time the playlist has just stopped at last song, but easy solution was always just press play, and it kinda fixed itself.

Thanks for the answer 🙂

Hello, I am again experiencing the exact same problem,  but this time around the playlist doesn't stop, but it just simply reset, including the songs you removed from the playlist with the remove function. I do not use any bluetooth of any kind, it's on Windows 10, and via the client, and while it's good it doesn't  stop, it's frustrating to hear the 55 same songs over and over, and especially when you remove songs from list, and they reappear.

Hey @Shagrax,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you try adding a few more songs to the original playlist and see if the Autoplay Radio generates new songs and lets you play past the 55 mark?

Keep us posted.

I add songs regularly into the playlist, but most interesting, if I played a different playlist for a while, it kinda fixed itself, I have no idea what is going on. Again, it has sort of sorted itself out.

Hey @Shagrax,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

We're glad to know that the issue sorted itself out. However, it's possible that the issue was caused by some residual cache. If you have this kind of issue in the future, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but it’s more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

Thanks again for keeping us updated and remember that the Community will be here if anything else comes up.

Cheers.
