My Question or Issue
Hey. Es ist zwar schon länger her, als du den Post abgesetzt hast, aber hast du das Problem gelöst? Wenn ja, wie? Habe das Gleiche Problem.

Hey @mela1202,
Thanks for reaching out to us 🙂
Hope you don't mind us replying in English as it's the Community's official language.
We'd suggest you start off by restarting your PC. Then you can log out and log back in again.
If that doesn't help, you can give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall. That way you can make sure the app is up-to-date and the cache is not causing this issue.
If that doesn't do the trick, you can try running the app as an administrator.
@ michi_punkt Does the issue still persist?
Keep us in the loop! If you have questions, you know where to find us.
I have done everything:
- Restart the app
- Logging in and out
- Software/App uninstalled, everything cleaned up and reinstalled (multiple times)
- PC restarted
It simply does not work. I don't know what to do and I am really frustrated.
Hey @mela1202,
Thank you for your reply and the provided troubleshooting tests you've done. We're happy to continue assisting you so you can get this sorted out.
In this case we recommend you to:
Also - if you have the option - would you mind logging in with another account on the web player and the app - such as a friend's or a family member's and do the same process to see if the issue persists?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Cheers!
Problem finally solved! Here is a description of the solution for other users:
I have tried the following:
- "classic" login and logout
- Uninstall, clean up the remaining data (manually as well as by third party program), reinstall / PC restart
- Firewall checks if app is blocked
- Spotify run as Admin
- Driver updated
There were no problems in the web player or on the smartphone app. I also tried both your software and the Microsoft app - no difference. Nothing worked.
I then contacted your customer service. The technical team contacted me very quickly and was finally able to help me. They have sent me the following instructions:
- Open Notepad as administrator (right click - open as administrator)
- Go to File - Open and navigate to C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc
- Select "All files" instead of "Text documents" next to the "File name" field.
- You will see a handful of files. Select Hosts and click on Open
- When the file is opened, you will see a block of text with # in front of each line and possibly entries like 0.0.0.0 website.com127.0.0.1 website2.com
- Check the address for entries with Spotify. Examples can be as follows
look: 0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com0.0.0.0
- If you find lines with spotify, please remove them
- Save your changes and restart Spotify.
Now it finally works! I've described it here again in such detail in case other users have the same problem.
FYI: Of course you need admin rights for this! You have to configure it before.
