Playlist won't go away! AGAIN!

Well, since my last post seems to have disappeared, I'll try again.

I have a repeating playlist that won't go away. ANY playlist I choose becomes 'default' and will always tag itself to the end of whatever i'm playing and will constantly repeat. We used to be able to choose an empty playlist to clear them but this no longer works. How do we fix it now?
