My Question or Issue
Podcasts have all stopped updating all on either the 14th of January or the 24th. Many of these podcasts have a new episode and most have multiple new episodes that haven't been added and I'm not sure if this is an issue on my end or if it's one on Spotify's.
Thanks for any help.
To add to this, I just checked the web app and it has the podcasts that are missing from my desktop app.
I'm seeing this issue when I leave my spotify app open. Exiting and reopening updated the podcast episode list
This didn't work for me. We just updated our RSS feed and the first episode on the new RSS feed showed up, however the one I published on Saturday is still missing from Spotify.
I've been having to uninstall and reinstall the app just to get the podcasts to update. It's stupid that we'd have to resort to this, but apparently there's either no solution available or people are being fairly secretive about it.
I also have to exit spotify and reopen. What a pain in the **bleep** that is.
Note to Spotify: Hire an actual User Experience expert to improve your interface. So many quirks, not to mention unnecessary differences when using Spotify on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad. And the HUGE Shuffle button??? Taking up precious screen real estate because…?
Same problem here. (and where is the "I have the same problem" button?)
Hey there @Pma456,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.
Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall of Spotify on your device? We recommend this step as it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones.
It'll also get you the latest version of Spotify. This usually tends to solve issues like the one you're experiencing.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
I've got this problem too. Podcast functionality is a complete joke right now. Maybe actually fix the UX instead of giving the completely generic "please ensure you have updated to the latest version of Spotify... blah blah blah off and on again."
Clean reinstall works only for couple days, after few updates the problem returns and the podcasts stop updating again, only if you close and reopen the app the new podcasts episodes appear again, or do a clean reinstall which is a pain the ass because most people don't know how to do that, it does not work by only moving the app to the trash bin you need a cleaner app for that.
The mac app version is the worst and Spotify needs to focus on that, the app does not update podcasts also does not check played episodes as played (only on iphone app this works) also we aren't able to set the episode as played on mac version. I'm going back to itunes to listen to my podcasts.
