Saving Songs vs Saving Albums

This only seems to happen on the windows desktop client for me (i havent tested this from my Mac), but songs that are part of albums that I have saved dont appear in my saved songs list.  Example: I want to add a full album to my library, so I click the Save button at the top and all the tracks get a check next to them.  If I go to albums, ithey are there, but if I go into songs... they are not (on the desktop client).  On my mobile app, if I go into songs and search for them they are all there.  Is this intended?  If so, seems odd that you can do this through the app but not on the client.  Seems like you would want all the tracks saved individually or as albums to go into the songs list so I can simply do a shuffle all from time to time.
