Hello, I have a serious issue with the Spotify app. I'm using it on a Windows 10 Hewlett Packard computer, which I bought a few days ago. I downloaded the Spotify app, expecting it to work. It doesn't.
The music makes cracking and popping noises when I play songs.
I have repeatedly reinstalled the Spotify app for Windows 10, and it still doesn't help with this issue. Please let me know how to fix it.Thanks.

Hey @beepmoller
The causes for this kind of issue can be pretty tricky to hunt down. However, I do have a few suggestions to offer:
The Windows audio settings have been causing issues for people before:
The audio enhancements:
1. Go to Taskbar, find and click on the speaker icon. Click the speaker/device icon again on the volume slider popup.
2. Go to Sound Enhancement tab and disable them.
3. If there are additional tabs like Dolby or similar, try disabling these too.
The Communications setting:
1. Find the speaker icon on Taskbar again. Right-click on it and select Sounds.
2. In the opened window go to COmmunications and set Windows to do nothing.
And if you're using third-party antivirus software, I suggest taking a look that it doesn't scan Spotify streams. Some AV programs have http scanning and similar things and this may cause interrupted audio flow in Spotify.
It should be possible to whitelist Spotify if that's the case.
Let me know how it goes 🙂
The source of the noise is maybe your headphones/speaker. Do you got the same issue on another platform like Youtube?
No, I don't have the same problem on You Tube.
I am not using earphones or external speakers.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, Go to Task Manager. Click Spotify then press End Process. Run Spotify again and it should be working
Delete Spotify then go to Control Panel. Delete ALL the Spotify files. then download it again. tell me if it works!
I'm sorry, it still makes the crackling noises.
Thank you for trying.
I did my best to help 🙂
Do you have the same problem if you're listen spotify using Web app ?
