My Question or Issue
I updated Spotify this morning and now the search function does not work. No matter what I search, I get a response saying no results found.
I've tried all the suggestions I've found in here (logging out and in again / deleting and reinstalling / restarting my PC etc) but still nothing.
Search works OK on my android (Xiaomi) but does not work on the desktop app, not does it work in the web player.

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting in the Community!
This looks to be a cache-related issue at first sight. I can suggest you both to log out and then to log back in, twice in a row, as this triggers a refresh between the servers and your account and may help to resolve any possible issues with the cached memory. See if this will make the Search feature work as expected.
If the above doesn't help, then it's well worth doing a so called clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing the trouble. This process is more thorough than the usual reinstall and has a few extra steps, so I recommend you to follow the linked guide and see the steps for your platform.
After the clean reinstall if this is still occurring for both of you, please return to us the exact desktop version you have on and also send us a short video of the situation. This will help us report and investigate the situation further with the right folks backstage.
Hope something here helps and does the trick for you, reach out if you need more help!
Search fails on the web site and the Windows app. If I type in an artist name it is not found, but I can search the name of one of the artists albums, and it finds that, then I can open the artists page.

Logging in and out twice in a row, solved the issue straight away. Thanks so much !
That has fixed the search for me too. Maybe the caching regime is a little over-reaching here? Maybe there should be a big button labelled 'Clear Cache' somewhere prominent in this app. Anyways, good to get a response.
Hey @Les492 & @quaywee,
We're glad this has worked out for you!
A Clear Cache button also seems like a good Idea 🙂
I'll definitely forward this to the right folks.
Fingers crossed.
Thanks & cheers!
