My Question or Issue

For several days now, when I log in to my laptop, Spotify is starting at the same song as it did yesterday. When I skip ahead, the "shuffle" feature is going to the same songs I listened to for hours yesterday while I worked, in the same order. I have tried logging out, closing down the program and starting it up again but to no avail. This has happened several times in the past, but it's getting really annoying now. I know this has been said before, but Spotify's "shuffle" is a joke. It's clearly not random, and this is proof.

Hi @Epitome, welcome to the Community!

I myself have had the same bug for a while now, and it would be great if you could vote and comment on my issue report so we can see this bug get fixed.

As for the shuffling, while it is true that the shuffle has been recently having some problems, the reason for the shuffle being the same is that the order for the whole playlist is chosen as soon as you click shuffle (or as soon as you click a song on your playlist if your shuffle is already enabled).

In the meantime, a workaround that I have found is to close the Spotify window before turning off your computer. Make sure that it is closed in your taskbar as well, since Spotify can stay hidden in the hidden icons section (to be extra sure, I would check Task Manager as well!)

Please reply if you need additional help 🙂
