Since 2014 as evidenced by multiple reports, shuffle play has been having issues with replaying the same tracks over and over and over again. What's the point of having a playlist of 200 songs if Spotify only plays 30 of them. I understand that Spotify uses an algorithm rather than a true random shuffle, however what used to be a minor annoyance has now gotten to the point of being a reason for me to step away from Spotify.
There haven't been any updates from staff since August on this issue. I really question how hard it is for a true random function to be implemented because the current algorithmic approach is not working.

Spotify, you have known about this shuffle issue for so long now and haven't done anything about it. Discover Weekly is a really great function and for the most part I've been satisfied with the service, at this point though, being unable to get a pretty basic function nailed down is leading me to begin pricing out a move to Tidal or Apple Music.
