Some songs won't play

Some songs won't play

Plan: Premium

Device: Samsung Galaxy S7, Asus laptop

Operating System: Android 8.0.0, Windows 10

Country: Finland

Spotify version:

I've had this problem for maybe a month. Some songs won't play on my Spotify. It doesn't matter wether I use the mobile app, desktop program or the web player.

All the songs that won't play are ones that I've previously been able to listen to and I have/have had them on my playlists. For example, I can play all songs on Twenty One Pilots album 'Trench', except for three songs that I had on a playlist.

How I've tried to solve the problem:

- Logged out on all devices

- Deleted the app and the desktop program and reinstalled them.

- Deleted the songs from the playlists

- Cleared cache and data

- Unchecked the boxes on local files in the settings

-Searched the issue and tried the things suggested

Nothing helps.

The songs are not greyed out or anything. On the mobile app I get no error messages, the song just doesn't play. The songs on playlists are just skipped. On desktop it displays a message that goes something like "This track is not available, ig you have it on your computer you can import it." The songs are not local files.

Please help.

Hey @user-removed.

Thanks for reaching out to us about this - we'll be happy to help you out.

Since this is happening across multiple devices, it is likely that there is an issue with the account itself. The easiest and best thing to do is to get in touch with our Customer Support team here. They will help you create a new account, transfer everything over to it, and then close the old account.

Hope that helps! Let us know how you get on - we'll be right here if you have any other questions in the meantime.

I contacted support. At first the person I talked to kept claiming that the songs are just not available in my region but in the end he transferred my playlists and my 3 month premium onto my new account (that I created just to check if the songs worked there). All songs seem to work fine on my new account because region wasn't the issue. So all is good 🙂
