Song length is different in control bar than in playlist

Song length is different in control bar than in playlist

Operating System

Windows 10

For example this song: https://open.spotify.com/track/3YwOh5FSxwhRnvO1yGduEi?si=K5P3ueiISRKYJ_Tt71cX_Q

is 2:26 long when viewed from a playlist and when you actually play it, it shows up as 2:25. Maybe the playlist view and control bar uses different rounding methods. This is a minor bug but it's there.

Hey @Sellis97

Do you see many songs like that? I tried the example here and saw the same thing, but it's quite interesting it's just one song with that little issue.

You can try a fresh reinstall to see if that clears anything up.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

No there are more actually.

5:20 in list and 5:19 in control bar

3:31 in list and 3:30 in control bar

It's too tedious to list them all but my guess stays the same, they most likely use different rounding methods.

Yeah, this happens with most songs, where there is a 1 second difference between the "control bar" and the "playlist" song lengths. I feel like maybe the difference is because one round up while the other rounds down. Just another example of Spotify being disorganised and never picking up on it.
