Spotify Connect Not Working on Desktop (Windows), Works on Other Devices

Spotify Connect Not Working on Desktop (Windows), Works on Other Devices

I've been having a lot of trouble trying to get Spotify to work on the desktop app. If I were to play a song on the desktop app, it wouldn't show on my phone or even the website and vice-versa. If I was to listen to on my phone or the website, it wouldn't appear on my desktop app. I've tried reinstalling Spotify, trying older versions, trying the Microsoft store version. Nothing works. This is extremely frustrating because it doesn't show what I'm listening to on discord even after linking my account and trying countless methods to fix that.

Hello there @httpsmin

There was an Issue flagged about the Connect feature not working on Desktop, which you can check out here. Is the Spotify version you've got installed same as the hotfixed version mentioned in the Status section?

Hey there, thanks for reaching out to me.

The version I have currently installed is "1.2.7.1277.g2b3ce637"

Thanks.

Oh that's a much newer client you've got then :')

Have you tried a clean reinstall ? This gets rid of old and potentially broken spotify files and gives the app a fresh start.

Spotify Connect not working on desktop is an issue that's now under investigation - head over here and read the status update on what you should do. : )

On the meantime you should be able to use Spotify Connect with no issues through the web player.

i'll give it a try again, the app has updated a few times since i've last done it. I'll return here with my findings.

still no luck unfortunately, i'll be going through the status update shortly. Thanks for the help nevertheless.
