Spotify Desktop App Closes When Opening GTA 5 on Intel Evo Laptop

Spotify Desktop App Closes When Opening GTA 5 on Intel Evo Laptop

Hey everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm facing an interesting issue on my Intel Evo laptop [ ] and I'm hoping someone might have some insights or suggestions to help me out.

Here's the problem I'm experiencing:

Whenever I try to open GTA 5 on my Intel Evo laptop, the Spotify desktop app automatically closes. It's quite perplexing because I haven't encountered this issue before and I'm not sure why it's happening.

I've tried various troubleshooting steps like reinstalling both Spotify and GTA 5, checking for any conflicting software, and updating my laptop's drivers, but the problem persists.

This issue is quite inconvenient as I enjoy listening to music while gaming, and having the Spotify app close unexpectedly disrupts my gaming experience.

If anyone else has experienced a similar issue where the Spotify desktop app closes every time GTA 5 is opened on an Intel Evo laptop, or if you have any suggestions for troubleshooting and resolving this issue, I would greatly appreciate your insights.

Thank you all in advance for your help and support.

Hi there @judywatson,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

First up, thanks for the detailed explanation and for letting us the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

Just to confirm, does this only happen with GTA 5? If you haven't, check if you can replicate the behavior with another game. Additionally, you can try using the Xbox Game Bar widget. Check out this article from the Xbox support page to enable it.

If that doesn't make a difference, we'd suggest going into Safe Mode and reinstalling Spotify there to see if that helps.

Lastly, have you tried using the Web Player?

Let us know how that goes.
