Spotify Desktop skips all songs on all of my playlists

Solved!

Spotify Desktop skips all songs on all of my playlists

Plan

Country

Netherlands

Device

Desktop pc

Operating System

Windows 64 bit Pro

Since the day before yesterday Spotify desktop suddenly skips all of my songs on all of my playslists. It keeps skipping without an end (I have quite large playlists). When I try to play a specific song on one of my playlists, Spotify says "Spotify can't play this song right now. If you have the file your computer you can import it".

Please help me with this, I play almost constantly using the desktop app, and am already annoyed by the silence (silence which cost me 9,99 euros each month; my ex-wife gave me this kind of silence for free when we were still married... however, afterwards it cost me a ton of money).

Thanks,

Arnoud

@Luke

I tried several other things, of no help.

What finally did it, was installing Java and Adobe flash!

I read that some other users tried this 'in despair' when nothing else helped (after trying all kind of offered possible solutions)

So, also for me.

I am happy.

Live is sunny again 😉

Best,

Arnoud

Hey @arnoud, thanks for reaching out.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest!

Thanks for you help @Luke.

But both didn't work.

P.s. Is it possible that on my system, Spotify is no longer the standard app for playing Spotify tracks? As I seem to suddenly have similar issues with other apps.

Do you know how I can check this and correct if necess.?

In Windows10 settings, I restored standard app to the standard values, hoped this would work but it doesn't.

Hey again @arnoud,

Is this happening when you‘re switching audio outputs?

And could you please try to change your sound settings in your OS to see if it helps 🙂

Have a nice day!

Luke

Hi @Luke, no I didn't switch anything.

As you adviced, I tried to update High Def. Audio device driver as I read in the community that it might work, but it didn't work for me.
