Spotify Won't Download To Desktop

In the past month or so there was an update for Spotify. The update wouldn't install on my computer. The same error code (18) kept appearing ["The installer is unable to install Spotify because the files to write are in use by another process. Please make sure Spotify is not running and retry."] I opened up my task manager to make sure it was closed (it was). How can I fix this? I've tried uninstalling and re-installing 3 or 4 times now.

Hey @unofficialian, welcome to the community!

Let's try reinstalling Spotify one more time following these steps. Before installing it again, restart your desktop and run Windows in safe mode.

Head to the folder under ~:\Users\"USERNAME"\AppData\Local, and delete any Spotify folders from it.

Once this is done, try installing the latest Spotify app here.

Let me know how it goes.
