Hey there @RedD34TH

Thanks for reaching out to us about this - we'll be glad to help you out here.

You can start off by running a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your PC. This will get you the latest app version and remove any corrupted files from previous installations.

If this persists after the clean reinstall, check your hosts file for entries that need to be removed. Follow the steps described here on how you can do that.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

I've tried both of those solutions but neither of them worked.

Having the same issue. Went as far as to uninstall and reinstall the app completely. Tried the app on another computer thinking it was an account issue, no problems. Have you checked to see if anything is hiding in a windows.old folder?

Hey,

Thank you for your replies.

Can you try the following:

  • If the device has multiple sound cards, install/update the drivers for each card.
  • Do you have DJ apps/software for mixing or creating tunes? In that case they have options to exclusively use the sound card which causes the error message. Can you disable the option.
  • Unplugging or disconnecting any third-party peripherals/audio devices (e.g. DJ mixing controllers, USB headsets, digital-to-analog converters).

If that doesn't do the trick - can you let us know which version of the app you have?

We'll keep an eye out for your replies 🙂

Cheers!
