Spotify doesn't resume where I left, and recently played list is empty

Before, when I started spotify, I could see the song that I last played on the computer, paused exactly where I paused it, even though spotify or the computer had been completely shut down.

But now, instead, what is shown is a song I played a week ago, where I left a week ago, as if this state was sealed even though I restarted and played many songs in between.

Also, When I click on the recently played, there is absolutely nothing shown, a blank sceern featuring only the title.

I have performed a complete uninstall of spotify twice, deleting all subfolders and temporary files, and restarting the computer. I have tried installing the desktop version, then switched to the windows store version, but the problem remains.

I have checked that my antivirus isn't interfering but nothing came up.

Please help I don't know what to do anymore.

I am experiencing the same problem. It is also shutting the application every time I go to download something from the internet. I listen at work, and download documents frequently. This is a really aggravating issue.
