Spotify is not opening on my laptop

Solved!

Spotify is not opening on my laptop

I have Windows 10 installed on my laptop. Spotify was installed by default, and I found it a very good app to use. A few weeks ago, Spotify disappeared from my Start menu, and I cannot find the programme on my computer anywhere, unless I go to the Windows Store, which says that I have it installed and won't let me re-download it.

I have tried pinning it to my taskbar, which worked for a short while, but now comes up with the same error message whenever I try to open the app.

I tried finding the programme to delete and reinstall it as instructed by the troubleshooting page, but the computer hasn't got it anywhere, despite the Windows Store indicating that I do have it, and the icon is still on my taskbar.

Has anybody else had this problem, and if so, know how to fix it, please?

Hey again @HollieRogers,

have you tried to uninstall the Spotify app from Apps&Features?

If so and it's not showing up there, please try to remove the app manually by visiting C:\Program Files\WindowsApps and then delete the app.

Let me know how it goes and

Have a nice day!

Hey @HollieRogers

have you tried downloading the non Windows Store Spotify app here?

I hope it works installing this one.

I can't download it unless I uninstall the app version, but I can't uninstall the app version as it is not appearing anywhere and Windows Store isn't giving me the option to update or uninstall or anything but says I can launch it., but only from in Windows Store.
