Solved!

Spotify launch error message 0xc0000001

Windows 7 64b, error message upon launch. Attempted: reinstalling, uninstalling (spotify.exe launches and crashes within a second), rename spotify directory within roaming directory then reinstalling. All advice welcome and appreciated

I found a solution, hopefully works also for all the others with this problem.

Go to...

C:\Users\*YOURUSERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\Spotify

... and rename the Spotify.exe in Spotify1.exe

This simple trick works for me. Spotify now starts in all versions without any errors.

I don't know why but this trick doesn't work for me. I just get the same error...

Maybe because I have windows 8.1 (rare case)?

The older versions works instead. Not a real fix but better than nothing for sure!

ANYONE who still has problems with this:

1. Uninstall Spotify

2. Install Spotify from the Microsoft Store on your Windows machine. Did the trick for me (in spite of having a clean Windows 10 Pro installation and running the stand alone Spotify application downloaded from the Spotify website).
