Windows 7 64b, error message upon launch. Attempted: reinstalling, uninstalling (spotify.exe launches and crashes within a second), rename spotify directory within roaming directory then reinstalling. All advice welcome and appreciated

This simple trick works for me. Spotify now starts in all versions without any errors.
I don't know why but this trick doesn't work for me. I just get the same error...
Maybe because I have windows 8.1 (rare case)?
The older versions works instead. Not a real fix but better than nothing for sure!
ANYONE who still has problems with this:
1. Uninstall Spotify
2. Install Spotify from the Microsoft Store on your Windows machine. Did the trick for me (in spite of having a clean Windows 10 Pro installation and running the stand alone Spotify application downloaded from the Spotify website).
